The Song of the Lords

In 2020, Jocelyn Akwaba Matignon created a series entitled "The Song of the Lords", consisting of twenty paintings in sizes 46x65 cm and 97x130 cm, based on three elements: the Bhagavad Gita, the Tzolkin Maya calendar and the Tarot de Marseille deck. The title of this series refers to the book "Song of the Lord" or "Song of the Blessed" or "Bhagavad Gita".
This work draws its inspiration from 3 spiritual thoughts (Indian, Mayan and European) and makes us aware of our inner quest.
Here we find the symbolic elements of the Tarot and the Tzolkin Maya calendar. All of these symbols are an initiatory journey towards the light, the inner sun, which refers to the essential questioning of the Bhagavad Gita.
